Illinois St. Food Emporium

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-16

Who we are

Illinois Street Food Emporium ("ISFE," "we," "us," or "our") is a family-owned scratch kitchen, bakery, and café at 5550 N Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN 46208. We have served the Indianapolis community since 1979. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website, contact us, order from us, or sign up for our emails, and the choices you have. It covers our website at isfeindy.com. Some things we link to, like online ordering and our cookie shop, run on other companies' platforms with their own privacy policies, and we point those out below.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you fill out a form on our site, you choose what to send us. Depending on the form, that can include your name, email address, phone number, company name, your message or catering and event details, wholesale product interest and volume, the role you are applying for, and a resume file. We only ask for what we need to reply to you.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records basic technical and usage data when you visit: pages viewed, how you got to us, your approximate location (country and region), your device and browser, and the date and time of your visit. This comes through the analytics tools listed below and our hosting provider's standard logs. For the analytics tools we run, we honor your cookie choice (see "Cookies and tracking").

What we do not handle on our website

You cannot pay us on isfeindy.com. We do not collect or store credit card numbers on our website. Online ordering, catering checkout, and our cookie shop run on separate platforms (see "The services we use") that process payments under their own privacy policies.

How we use it

  • Reply to your contact, catering, wholesale, and careers inquiries
  • Send our email newsletter to people who opted in
  • Understand how the website is used so we can improve it
  • Measure how well our advertising performs
  • Keep the site secure and working, and meet legal and record-keeping obligations

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use the Meta Pixel for advertising and measurement, which can count as "sharing" under some state laws. You can turn that off at any time, and we honor browser opt-out signals automatically. See "Your privacy choices" for how.

The services we use to run the site

These are the third parties ("processors") that handle data on our behalf when you use our website, and what each one does. Each has its own privacy practices.

  • Vercel (Vercel, Inc.): hosts and serves the website and keeps standard server and security logs.
  • Tuscan Agency / Supabase: the content management system and database behind the pages, photos, and menus on the site. Our website is built and maintained by Tuscan Agency on the Tuscan content platform, which runs on Supabase.
  • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC): measures website traffic and usage (property ID G-N5L5CH2YND). Sets analytics cookies, subject to your consent choice and Google Consent Mode.
  • PostHog (PostHog, Inc.): privacy-focused product analytics. We use it for anonymous, aggregated event analytics only, meaning which pages and buttons get used and which form submissions complete, so we can improve the site.
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.): an advertising and measurement tag for Facebook and Instagram ads. When it is active, it shares limited data with Meta about your visit so we can measure ad performance and reach people who might enjoy our food. It is off by default in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland until you accept, and it stays off if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal or you opt out. See "Your privacy choices."
  • Vercel Analytics (Vercel, Inc.): privacy-friendly, aggregated traffic measurement built into our host. It does not use cookies to identify you.
  • Make.com (Celonis / Make): routes the forms you submit on our site to the right inbox at ISFE so we can respond. Your form details, including any resume you attach, pass through Make to reach us.
  • Resend (Resend, Inc.): delivers our transactional and form-notification emails, so the message you send through a form reaches us. Sees your email address and what you submitted.
  • Instagram / Meta Graph API (Meta Platforms, Inc.): the "Follow us on Instagram" section uses Meta's Graph API to pull our own recent public posts. It shows our posts; it does not collect your personal information through us. Following a link out to Instagram is governed by Meta's policies.

Separately, ordering and shopping happen on other companies' platforms, not on our website. When you click through to order or shop, you give your details directly to that platform, and your information is processed under its privacy policy:

  • Toast: online ordering and catering checkout. When you order or pay through Toast, Toast processes your order and payment information.

Each processor handles data only to provide its service to us, under its own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale of the business.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies: first-party functional cookies that remember your consent choice and your rough region, plus the analytics and advertising tools listed above. Here is how we handle consent:

  • EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland: analytics and the advertising pixel stay off until you choose "Accept." Nothing non-essential runs before that.
  • Everywhere else, including the United States: we show a short notice. Analytics runs by default and you can decline at any time. The Meta Pixel runs by default for advertising and measurement, and you can opt out at any time.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): if your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an automatic opt-out of analytics and the advertising pixel. You do not have to do anything else.

We use a geo-aware consent banner with Google Consent Mode v2. Even when analytics is declined, Consent Mode lets us see anonymous, modeled traffic totals, never your individual activity. You can reopen the banner and change your choice at any time using the "Your Privacy Choices" control in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on to opt out of Google Analytics everywhere.

Email communications

We send our newsletter only to people who opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Messages we send in reply to a form, like a catering or wholesale follow-up, are sent to answer you and are not marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep the information you send through a form as long as we need it to handle your inquiry and for a reasonable period after, then delete or archive it. Analytics data follows each tool's retention settings. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see "Your rights").

How we protect it

The site runs over HTTPS, and we use reputable providers with their own security programs. We apply reasonable safeguards. That said, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is ever completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Where your data is processed

We are based in the United States, and our providers process data primarily in the US. If you contact us from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal information. We honor these for everyone who asks, regardless of location.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA), you can:

  • Know what personal information we collect and how we use it
  • Access a copy of your personal information
  • Delete your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or a similar jurisdiction (GDPR-style), you can:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Restrict or object to how we process it
  • Request data portability (get your data in a usable format)
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these, email us at the address below. We may need to verify your request before acting on it, and we will respond within the time the law allows.

Your privacy choices

Here is how to control what happens on this site:

  • Cookie preferences. Use the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer to reopen the consent banner and accept or decline analytics and advertising cookies at any time.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out of analytics and the Meta Pixel automatically.
  • Browser controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on to opt out of Analytics across all sites.
  • Email us. Send any access, deletion, or correction request to the address below.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. We do not sell your personal information for money. Because we run the Meta Pixel for advertising, the data it shares with Meta may count as "sharing," or in some states a "sale," of personal information. You can opt out: use "Your Privacy Choices" in the footer to decline, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, or email us. We honor all three.

Children's privacy

Our website and services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child gave us their information, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
